I’m often asked which is the best insurer to be with.

I’m often asked which is the best insurer to be with.

And the answer I give depends on you.

To highlight this, I thought I would share some of my most recent cases…
Helicopter Pilot for the Army (Coolest occupation of the week by far, and who doesn’t want to get paid to play Top Gun!). He wanted a lump sum pay-out should he suffer a major accident or illness whether it occurs at work or not. The only company that would offer widest range of coverage was Vitality Life.

Client who suffered an Arteriovenous malformation (AVM) 10 years ago. He wanted income protection and critical illness cover but had been turned down in the past. After much research I found the only company to cover him in full was LV=.

Fisherman off the North Sea. He wanted life & critical illness cover and only Friends Life would offer his family a quick pay-out if he was lost at sea (most insurers would want to wait 7 years before being officially announced deceased).

Client who had Prostate Cancer 7 years ago. Wanted life cover and although most companies would insure him, only Legal & General offered me the best rates by a considerable margin due to the type of Cancer he had.

So the best insurer is the one that best fits your lifestyle.

It does require quite a bit of research to find the most suitable, but it's a labour of love and worth the extra effort.

That’s why they call me the ‘insurance tailor’ because it really is about matching the right plan to the right person although I was once nick-named ‘insurance dude’ by one client, but somehow that doesn’t quite work for me.
